The ‘Langra’ mango, also known as Banarasi Langra is primarily cultivated in Banaras, Northern India, Bangladesh & Pakistan. The cultivar retains a greenish tinge while ripening.
It is normally harvested during the mid of June. Around 2006, it was known to be gaining popularity on the international market.
There are more than 200 varieties of mangoes cultivated in Pakistan each year & Langra is among one of them. It is considered suitable for slicing and canning.
